WHO WE ARE
CARRIE TENGLER STUART
Owner . Bodyworker . Esthetician . Yoga Instructor
Carrie has lived in San Pedro since December 31st, 2000 moving here from Salt Lake City, Utah. She met her husband, Oliver, a tour-guide and dive instructor (www.caribeantoursbelize.com), on a vacation she took with a girlfriend at the beginning of 2000. The island (and boy) cast a spell and she decided to lay down some roots. Carrie couldn't leave her entire family so she brought her younger sister, Charlene, with her. In 2002, Carrie and Charlene began Sol Spa on the first floor of a friend's residence. The business grew and Carrie decided to move the space to Vilma Linda Plaza where the spa stayed for six years. During this time, Carrie had the great opportunity of helping open Aura Spa & Boutique (www.auraspaforthespirit.com) in Park City, Utah allowing her to once again, delve into her creative side by co-developing a space for healing and relaxation. In 2008, another wonderful opportunity presented itself… for Sol Spa to move to the beautiful, modern resort called The Phoenix. Where it has happily been ever since.
Carrie graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in June of 2000 with over 800 hours of training. She traveled to western Belize in March 2005 to learn the Maya Abdominal Massage from its founder, Dr. Rosita Arvigo. She's also been teaching yoga since 2002. Her style is a slow flow, focusing on form and in finding a deeper connection with your spiritual and emotional self. Carrie practices all of her techniques at the spa and whenever she travels. When she's not at the spa… Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, including her son, Charlie, friends and black lab, Diego, doing anything that takes her outside and into nature, whether it's in Belize, Utah, or wherever else she happens to be.

We are so lucky to have such a solid and hard working person at Sol Spa.
